Gryphon-Phoenix developed from the sharing of a vision and dialog to implement the idea of the Continuity of Care for all beings and our Earth. Some may say a “dream” of mythical proportions; therefore, how appropriate the guardians of this quest are the legendary Gryphon and Phoenix.

The Gryphon is a powerful and majestic composite creature with the body of a lion and the head and wings of an Eagle. She has been historically portrayed as the guardian of both physical treasure, as well as, the protector of divine light and power.

The Phoenix is a solitary creature with a long life span ranging from 100 years to over 12,000 years. At the end of her life, Phoenix builds a nest of spices, herbs and leaves. Resting, she awaits the heat of the sun signaling the beginning of her transition. When the heat of the day’s sun reaches her outstretched wings, Phoenix ignites into flame and burns to ashes.  With the coming of the night’s moon, the ashes stir and Phoenix is resurrected and takes flight to greet the new day.

Gryphon-Phoenix is the guardian of the physical and spiritual.
